Calculating lot size

Pick a lot size that fits your capital and risk.

  1. 01Decide how much of your account you can risk per trade, for example 1–2%.
  2. 02Turn that into money: account size × risk %.
  3. 03Check the stop-loss distance in the signal (in pips or points).
  4. 04Lot size = money at risk ÷ (SL distance × value per pip of 1 lot).

The value per pip differs by pair and instrument. Check your broker’s contract specs.
